Wednesday, 4/21/21, New Tacoma Cemetery (near Chambers Bay)
So many dead:
Tomico, Conlon, McGuire.
Toiling, disintegrating
becoming worms before our very memory.
Greenest grasses give way to darkest earth’s heart
swallowed by mistress march of time—
the bones of mammoths sighing at our arrival.
My headstone stoic dream
memento mori, memento vivere, my beloved corpses
dancing in your decrepit silk savoir-faire
sallow jaws and rotting flesh
dusty remains framed wooden fever dream of life—
my precious babies
dance fallow fields into life once again by the might of your funeral magic
shake earthen bowels back from ancient slumber with your timeless love
thrash freedom and fierce love from the beyond
for you:
you, lover of earth
you, devoured in fire
you, keeper of dreams
you, creator of nightmares
you…
ruiner genocidal atrophy
king death squad mass grave torture of souls
annihilator
conqueror
devourer
of my consciousness.
My love, my grave.
Cold embrace.
Never forget
the warmth
of the sun…
